Why Fluency Matters

You worked hard to attain your professional status. Make sure your ideas and opinions are understood clearly and influence others positively.

Clear communication isn’t just about changing your accent. It can be how you structure your ideas so they land, how directly you express yourself, or whether the level of formality matches what’s expected. Each of these areas—pronunciation and intonation, structure, tone and body language—can make the difference between being heard and being understood.

That’s where I come in. My name is Dani Long. I hold an Master's degree in teaching the English lanugage with over a decade of teaching experience, and another decade's experience as an IT professional.I instruct with precision through live classes, creating focused sessions that give you opportunities to practice, receive feedback, and make real, lasting changes in how you communicate.

Courses ~ Seminars ~ Conferences

Courses run for 6 weeks and include weekly live sessions along with pre- and post- testing to measure gains.
Standard courses include one individual session per week, with an upgrade option for two per week.

Seminars are single or multi-day, on-site workshops geared towards small to mid-sized groups. These are tailored to your specific language goals, such as presentation practice or sales and customer engagement.

Conferences --this option is for larger groups and generally run as part of a larger organizationl event. Number of sessions per day, number of days per event are determined based on the needs of your attendees.

Topics vary. New courses often grow out of current participant's specific challenges. Similarly, Seminar and Conference topics can reflect the overall goal of the organization.Language development principles don't change, so I strive to make the context meaninful, which makes learning and developing new habits easier and more 'sticky'.

Teaching Advanced English
With Technical Professionals

Language Teacher
In addition to over a decade's experience teaching English language, I've earned an MS Ed degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. My work on the Master's degree included an internship with an Intensive English Program, assisting students and professionals from all over the world but especially from the ITESM system based in Monterrey, MX.
Tech Professional
My IT experience started with sales for Samsung and then for Google. This was a great transition from teaching because work for both companies included teaching consumers how to use new technology.
Over time, I worked my way up to be the IT Admin for a small engineering company. When that business was bought out, I began working contracts as a project-based IT support person and started Attaining Fluency.

Why This Matters for You
What this means for you is simple: you won’t waste time translating between “language” and “tech.” I understand both worlds, so our work together can focus directly on the skills that help you present your ideas clearly, adapt your message to your audience, and gain confidence in professional settings. Instead of generic lessons, you’ll get practical, relevant guidance that makes a real difference in how you’re understood and how your expertise is received.

Language Learning FAQs

How will improving my English fluency help advance my career in tech?

Have you ever wondered how language skills translate into career growth? Fluency doesn’t just mean speaking correctly—it means communicating in a way that builds trust and influence. Stronger English helps you share your ideas more clearly, gain visibility in meetings, take on leadership roles, and be considered for global opportunities.

Which specific English skills should I focus on first for the biggest impact—pronunciation, writing, or presentation?

The answer here depends on your goals. If you want to be understood in every meeting, we’ll focus on clarity and pronunciation. If writing reports is your challenge, we’ll work on structure and tone. If presentations are key, we’ll practice delivery and audience impact. Together, we’ll target the area that gives you the biggest return right away.

Will you create a communication plan tailored just to my tech role?

Absolutely. Every professional is different, and so are their needs. I’ll build a plan that fits your role—whether you’re presenting in conferences, writing technical documentation, or leading client calls—so you see improvements where it matters most.

What if I can't think of the right word in the moment?

This taps into real anxiety: as a pro, you know your domain, but sometimes words fail. It happens to native speakers, too. I’ll show you strategies like paraphrasing, bridging phrases, and staying calm so you can keep the conversation flowing. The goal is confidence, not perfection.

How do I sound confident speaking English, even when I'm not a native speaker?

Confidence often matters more than perfection and comes from preparaton and practice. We’ll focus on how you start, how you hold the floor, and how to use your tone and pacing to project authority. When you know your communication tools, you stop second-guessing yourself and sound more assured.

Can language coaching help me collaborate better with global teams?

Yes. Distributed teams are the norm, so misunderstandings slow down projects and create frustration. Coaching helps you adapt your style to different cultures, clarify expectations, and use direct but respectful language so your team stays aligned and productive.

How can I explain technical ideas clearly to non-technical audiences?

Translating complex engineering or tech topics into accessible language is a common challenge, especially in cross-functional or client-facing scenarios. We’ll practice breaking down complex concepts into simple, relatable language without “dumbing it down.” This helps you connect with colleagues in management, sales, or client teams, so they understand not just what you know, but why it matters.
